Call around to your local parts stores and see if one does a free scan. If so then get it scanned and write down the codes and then erase the codes. Get back to me with the codes and we will go from there ok.

Codes are po172 lean on 1
po174 lean on 2

Mass airflow sensor maybe?

Ok I would get some mass air flow cleaner and clean it first. You did clear the codes?

Yes I cleared them. Mass air flow cleaner? What about carb cleaner, would that do?

I see these codes a lot on Fords and it's nearly always due to a severe vacuum leak. The rubber connectors tend to suck a hole right through them.

Then why does it only happen at idle, not thru acceleration and cruising speed?
