Battery is weak when starting

We have a 2003 Ford Tauras V-6 and lately it acts like the battery is real weak when starting. It only does this once every so often. I checked the battery voltage with my meter and it shows a fully charged battery. I also checked for charging with the voltmeter I have.

This problem just started about a week ago. My wife drives the car and told me about it. When I tried starting it it barely would turn over. That's when I got out my meter and tested it. It does this intermittently. Sometimes it starts normally and the car always runs smooth and drives good. The battery is almost new and was tested. I'm confused. I thought about the timing.

I love this site :-)

Starter motors are common for failing in this model. I would have a shop do a draw test on the starter to confirm.

Thankyou very much. I'm surprised that I didn't think about the starter. I believe that is probably what the problem is and I will get it tested. My wife will be glad. She always thinks the worst. You guys are real good mechanics. Thanks again. Paul Ferguson, pdf54@att. Net
