Car runs fine but the service engine light came on and the codes are P1518 and P1085 turned the light off and it hasnt come back on any ideas why it came on in the first place?

P1518 - Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC).

It could have stuck open causing †P1085 †Fuel Control Mixture Lean (Bank 2 Sensor 1). The problem has since resolved itself but there is a possibility of them coming back if anything is wrong with the circuit. In the meantime you can sleep on it.

P1518 Is a KOEO ( key on engine off ) Self test failure code, having mainly to do with the throttle body. Its a self test when the key is first turned on and may have been a hicuup in the electrical system that caused this as that test is directly controled by the PCM.

Im not sure that second code is right as any information I try to find doesnt use that code ( its a BMW code as far as I can find )
