2003 Ford Focus Repair Question

How to increase pick up on my ford focus 03 se zetech doch 16 valve
I have a cold air intake and changed to a cherry bomb muffler but the car came with 3 parts in the muffler..the catalytic and two mufflers,should i take the one in the middle of the tube off? i use 5w-20 semi synthetic..

cold air intake wont add much. just a muffler will not either. you need to replace from the cat back with the low flow exhaust.
other things like injectors, timing and maybe some replacement cams will help as well.
