car seems to have a short when parked on an incline

I turned the car off and the speakers all popped like they got a power surge. when I went to start the car it would not start. I was parked on an incline with the nose lower than rear. I put jumper cables on it, and it starts immediately, so I know the battery isn't dead. it doesn't do this all the time, and it keeps getting progressively worse.
