Im in the process of reinstalling my rocker arms and pushrods in my vehicle.
can you give me a detailed process on how to accomplish this. There is no literature on this process.
I bring my piston to top dead centre, and try to tighten the bolt that holds the rocker arm and pushrods.
but theres still a lot of play on the pushrod even though bolt is tight. Please help my car is in the garage
and im at a loss on how to proceed.

Pushrods have to be installed in same place they came out of. They are installed in the guide plates and then the rockers. The rockers are tightened down to 11 ft lbs +90 degrees. Maybe you aren't doing the last step.

First of all, thanks for replying and trying to help. More info.
All that happened to this buick, was a blown headgasket
I took the pushrods and rocker arms and put them back exactly,
where they came from. But as I proceeded to toque them down to 11ft/ibs, I broke a bolt. Because my literature said nothing about bringing the no.1 piston to top dead centre. Now that im doing it the right way.I would torque
but theres still a lot of play up and down, on the pushrod, and the bolt of rocker arm is completely tight. Im at a loss. Help

Did you torque the rocker arms to the spec I first gave I think you aren't doing the plus 90 degrees after torqueing to 11

Also some of the play may be due to not running engine so lifters haven't pumped up
