Volkswagen Jetta Battery Problem
I recently puchased a used 02 Jetta 6 speed with 126,000 miles. A couple weeks ago while driving down the road it bogged down like it was gonna die and the headlights and dashlights went off for a few seconds and came back on and it reved back up. Today while driving down the road it shut down completely with no warning. It started right back up. But when it did the clock had reset and the brake light and door ajar light will not go off. About 10 miles later it did it again.

Check the battery cable connections at the battery and at the starter... also the ground cable at the transmission.
The fuse box on top of the battery needs to be checked as well... tighten all the fittings. Bad connections can cause
the fuse box to melt and catch fire.
If all that checks out fine, could be a power supply relay or some other electrical issue which will need to be looked
at by someone familiar with vw's.
Not much else that can be suggested or diagnosed over the internet without seeing the car in person.
