Saturn SL2 Gas Problem
I have a service engine soon light on. DTC code is P0442. I tried replacing the gas cap (OEM) but the light is still on. does it take a while to reset itself?

who told you it was the gas cap???
it could be a leak somewhere else or a solenoid not working.
it needs to be checked with a smoke machine, scan tool to operate components before discussing any parts needed

Just to add to this one take it to a auto parts store and have them clear the code and see if it resets?In your position that's what I would do.If it does then start the diagnoses.
