Dealer tried to program a new bcm, but said he needed more time the car was not reading the pass code machine, something is preventing that. He would have to go through a long process of finding what is wrong

I have replaced and programed a ton of these bcms and have no idea what your talking about. There is no pass code machine that I know of and I have worked for saturn for over 16yrs. You would use the gm service stall to reprogram the bcm. Then relearn the pass lock sensor to the new bcm.
