no good shop works for nothing. they will and have to charge you for the actual diag as it is more than reading a code number. be prepared to spend if you want it fixed right

Went to autozone and advance, got the same error code for both. P0420, catalyst system operating below threshold, and the code appeared twice. One guy said I simply have to drive it a certain way to set the catalyst monitor, another said I need a new catalytic converter, so I dunno. No errors for the o2 sensor tho so that's better than what it was. Any ideas?

If you have a code P0420 that isnt going to just go away from driving it a certain or the cat monitor isnt going to reset.You most likely need a new cat.
