If your going to work on your own vehicle, you need to start with a basic set of tools, wrenches and sockets, standard and metric. Buying one socket for one job isnt feasible. I just grab a socket and if it is a little too small, I grab the next size up. Socket isnt worth much without a rachet. You didn't say what your trying to remove?

Dont know the actual size of that nut? Are you replacing the halfshaft? I have run into issues where the aftermarket halfshaft nut was a different od than the original nut. If you get a new socket, get one that will properly fit the new nut. You may end up having to buy two sockets.

Go to your local autostore, tell them you want a socket for axle nut. You can measure across nut flats with a tape measure. That should get you close. Probably a metric size.

Even if you get the nut off, probably have to use a puller.
