Why does my car shut off?

My car shuts off when I slow down in traffic or turn. There are no lights that stay on, and it starts rigt back up. I have taken it to 2 places and they say they can't do anything until a light stays on.

Has anyone actually tried to scan it for codes?how does it idle in park?

I took it to 2 mechanics and they said it had to have a light on to figure out what was wrong. It idles fine in park and runs good until I slow down.

Just because the light isnt on doesnt mean there arent codes take it to a auto parts store like auto zone and have them scan the car for codes.Let me know the exact code numbers if you have any write them down.
