2002 Nissan Pathfinder Screeches Upon Starting

I have a 2002 nissan pathfinder and it screeches when I start the engine. It happens almost everytime, but it is more noticeable on colder days. Any idea what the problem is?

The bearings in the starter are badly worn, need to be replaced.
