I have a . my dashboard battery light came on does that mean i need a alternater

-Could be -have it load tested at NAPA to check its condition

you could simply go to any mechanic , attach voltmeter to battery , test the voltage before and after starting the car , it should be 13v before , and a steady (i think 15v ) after , just did that a month ago .
