2002 Hyundai Sonata Repair Question

Hi-I have a problem that I hope you can help me with-I have a 2002 Hyundai Sonata with a remote gas cap release-it doesn't work any more-my question is is the remote relese to open the gas access door electically controled(possibly a blown fuse renders it

Alright do you have a multimeter to do some testing?

Check and test:

Fuel Filler Lid Release Solenoid

Remove the trunk left side trim.
Open the fuel filler lid.
Remove the bolts that support the fuel filler lid release and disconnect the wiring connector.

No-but I know a mechanic friend of mine that will do it for free-if the solenoid is bad about how much(ballpark) will this set me back. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction

If i had to guess because that is a uncommon part to price i would say about 40.http://www.parts.com might have the solenoid they have good prices on some things and there factory parts.
