My battery is only 2 months old. I've noticed when its gets below 40 degrees outside my car won't start. The battery has power but when I try to start it nothing happens nor does it make any noises. If it warms up outside enough it will eventually start. I don't know if this a thermostat problem or starter or what?

Have you had the battery tested yet?I know its only 2 months old but I would still have it tested. Also do you have a multi meter to do some testing?

Do not have a tester of any kind. I have had the battery checked and they stated it was fine. What's so puzzling to me is the point of the weather seemingly to effect whether it starts or not. Anyways, could a faulty thermostat prevent a car from starting?

No its not going to too. You said the starter is inop doesn't turn the engine over when it gets that cold?Your going to need at least a multimeter to do some testing to see whats happening when it doesn't start. Even if I was there looking at it I would need one you tools to diagnose and repair anything cars or otherwise.
