My Ford Fiesta 1.6 Zetec S 2002 has been sitting for about the last 6 months. After trying to start it the other day with a battery boast pack it would just keep turning over but not start.
After reading some info online I think it might be the fuel pump. I only think this because when I would click on the ignition there used to be a noise for about 2-3 seconds; I think this was the fuel pump or injection. When the noise stopped I knew the car was alright to be started.
This noise now doesn't happen. Please help if you can.

Also if you think it sounds like a fuel pump can you please tell me where I can find it and if it is possible to change myself?

You could be right. What to do is this. You need to check fuel pump pressure to the fuel rail. If it is 0, then you know the pump isn't working. There is a video and directions on our homepage under the DIY section. Also, check the EEC relay and fuel pump relay under the hood to make sure there is no corrosion from sitting. If there is fuel pressure, check for spark to the engine.

Let me know what you find.
