I have a sport trac and could you tell me where the canister purge valve is located on the vehicle.

The check engine light came on and I had it tested at auto zone, and code po402 came up on the tester. That is one of the 4 things that could be the problem. Thanks

As usual, autozone is wrong, I do not believe in anyone with making assumptions on a free code pull that is not a technician. They are parts salesman, not repair techs.

402 is an egr flow code. Nothing to do with the evap system.

Could be many things but before you throw parts at it that dont fix it, get a real diag from a shop with a pin point failure.

The most common failure is the dpfe sensor but needs to be confirmed by a tech.

Ok, once again, a code never identifies a bad part just a failed system. The system needs to be smoke tested for leaks, a scan tool to make sure the valve is getting the command from the ecm and also a volt meter to ensure power and grounds. It is not as easy as everyone thinks.

At least get the real diag to confirm before throwing any parts at it.
