where do you add freon in a 2002 ford explorer xls

Are you sure the system is low? If the A/C just recently quit working check the low pressure switch on the accumulator. Jump the connector using a small paper clip and if the A/C starts blowing cold replace the pressure switch. No need to drain the system for that. Just unscrew and screw the new one in.
