2002 Dodge Truck Ram 1500 4x4 5 9 Automatic Cold Transmission Shifts Fine

I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 with the 5.9 automatic. When cold, the transmission shifts fine but when warm, the transmission will shift from 1st to 2nd but wont shift from 2nd to 3rd. What could cause this and how can I fix it?
