Your answer to:If the timing belt on a 2001 Volvo S80 breaks is the engine toast (i.e. are the clearance so close that the pistons and values are damaged? Or can it be repaired? is:"Its an interference engine-repairable"
Which on the one hand says it's not repairable ("interference engine") and on the other says it is repaiable ("repairable")
So I'm confused. Is it an interference engine?

According to Mitchel 1 data base, this is an interference engine and vale damage will result due to timing belt failure.

The engine is repairable but the cost is not going to be cheap as all the valves have to be replaced.
