Volvo S40 Transmission Problem
The car keeps telling me to shift up and seems to be in 3rd gear all the time it an automatic trans it shifts to reverse ok but will not shift out of third gear

The arrow means the transmission control module has stored a fault code and has put the vehicle in limp home mode. You need to take it in to a shop or transmission specialist to diagnose the fault.
