Volkswagen Passat Mechanic Problem
My passat just started to idle high in nuetral while at red lights, 5 speed lots of recent work, but check engine light has been on forever but until this the car has been running great. waiting to hear from mechanic, I don't know what part he is looking at but brand new costs 675. 00 any ideas.

If you're within the US, go to the nearest Autozone and get it scanned for free-Then comeback with the code/s if any present-This is you starting point to fix your problem-

What makes you question your Mechanics findings / diagnosis? Have you been to his shop before?

I would be checking the IAC system and also check for vacuum leaks.
