What size engine?

If 1.8T ,V6 or TDi, you will have bent valves, so the Cylinder head(s) will have to come off as well.

I had a customer with broken timing belt teeth on a 2.0L engine... she was lucky, the engine ran after a new belt was put on.

The video shows what caradiodoc means by stripped off teeth.
