2001 Volkswagen Jetta Repair Question

"I have a 2001 vw jetta 1.8t and the engine is 2.0v 4cyl and the epc light lit this morning and when i start the car the engine accelerates all the way but when i step on the brake it stops accelerating...and it keeps doing it...but when i put it in drive

The fuses and oil are good...epc light is on but not blinking
