Volkswagen Jetta Coil pack Problem

When I start my car the check engine light is ON but after I drove for few minutes the CEL starts flashing and giving jerks. I think there is misfire sometimes because when I press the accelerator paddle, it won't increase the speed but all of a sudden the power increases. I observed that my coolant level is low. When I start the car the temperature gauge does not increases but after sometime it increases to a normal and after that the CEL starts blinking.

Yes, engine misfire.

Check the coil pack for arcing... also check your spark plugs and ignition wires.

Extended misfires will damage the catalytic converter.

Scan the ECM for codes... if you get a cylinder specific code such as p0301, p0302 etc. then focus on that cylinder

p0301 = cyl 1
p0302 = cyl 2
.
.
p0306 = cyl 6

If just p0300 (random misfire)... probably the coil pack.
