This 2001 jetta battery went dead because of a amplifier on my stereo. When I tried to push start it nothing. When I tried to jump start it, the engine turned over but it would not start.[img:f9446e291b]http://www.2carpros.com/forum/automotive_pictures/184429_092_1.jpg[/img:f9446e291b]

Most likely the stereo had/has a problem. The amplifier isn't turned on until the stereo sends a signal to it, usually via a blue output wire. Make sure it has spark and is getting fuel. Check the fuel pressure.
