Hi I have a golf gt tdi mk4 pd130 when I switch my car of the engine rattles but then If I put my clutch down and switch the car off it doesn't rattle why is it doing that really annoying and also before My car use to hit top speed of 130 easily but now it doesn't go over 110 can that be because I have had it serviced 10000 miles ago and can you please tell me what parts I need to get it serviced and apparently the previous owner of the vehicle said that it has been remapped to 190bhp but no proof so is there a way for me to find out what's it actually pushing
Thank you

You may have a noisy clutch thrust bearing, these can often be quiet with the clutch pressed down as this loads up the bearing in that position. I would say it is well over due for a full engine service and check the tune as well, when were the plugs and filters changed last, if you do not know the history get it done now.

You will have to pull the transmission out and strip the clutch and then order what is required, you must machine the flywheel if the clutch is replaced, as for the service and tune, if you do not have a service history just do the lot then you know all will be ok.
