I have a 2001 Saturn L300 - Lost power and cut off, but it restarts & continues the same

Just to add to this one does it restart right away?Also any codes?Could be a failing crank shaft sensor pretty common on that car.

Have you had the battery tested and made sure the battery cables are clean and tight?Also what is a put put noise?The more details the better since I cant test drive the car and see what its doing. Also how long does it run in between the car dieing?

Yes - Purchased a new one just yesterday w/AAA - AAA came back 2day to check everything & concluded it was not the battery - More like a grinding noise or a pulling noise especially when u try to speed up - Maybe runs about a minute or two in between

So the battery keeps dieing while driving?Also can you hear the grinding noise with the engine running and the car in park?
