I have a 2001 Saturn L300 - Lost power and cut off, but it restarts & continues the same

Just to add to this one does it restart right away?Also any codes?Could be a failing crank shaft sensor pretty common on that car.

Have you had the battery tested and made sure the battery cables are clean and tight?Also what is a put put noise?The more details the better since i cant test drive the car and see what its doing.Also how long does it run in between the car dieing?

Yes - Purchased a new one just yesterday w/AAA - AAA came back 2day to check everything & concluded it was not the battery - More like a grinding noise or a pulling noise especially when u try to speed up - Maybe runs about a minute or two in between

So the battery keeps dieing while driving?Also can you hear the grinding noise with the engine running and the car in park?

Thx for your assistance - My husband took it 2 the mechanic & he found that it was the catalytic converters
