When trying to start the car it will not start it makes a clicking noise and the crank shift does not click over. Tried hitting the starter to see if it starts and did not start

Have you had the battery tested and made sure the battery cables are clean and tight?Also have you checked the engine oil level yet?Do you have a multi meter to do some testing?
