My diesel car is having trouble accelerating in the cold or damp weather, to the point that it is dangerously slow, please help

this is the problem with diesel, when its cold, it congiels(thickens), but vehicles that use diesel fuel are usually equipped with a warming device that prevents the diesel fuel from thickening, is there a check engine light on?
