Mazda Tribute Auto parts Problem
MY MAZDA TRIBUTE IS STUCK IN REVERSE I TRIED TO TURN THE ENGIN OFF AND RESTART IT BUT NOW IT WONT START AND I CNAT SHIFT FROM REVERSE TO PARK

either have a bad cable, linkeage jammed or internal valve body issue.
check the cable first

the cable that goes between the shifter lever and the transmittion came loose ( worn out rod ends). 1) You can look up the procedure to change the cable on a Haynes repair manual ( Escape Tribute 2001-2007) This manual is about $ 20 at any auto parts store. Ref: Chapter 7B-2 paragraph 3. The cable P/N is MZEC01-40-500E and is $ 64.98 Mazda Dealer. For tools all you need is a Phillips screw driver and pliers.
