I just had an oil change and they told me the rear trailing arm bushings are broken and recommend replacement ASAP. They say they aren't leaking yet, but could start at any time. How serious of a problem is this? $600 to repair now, could be $1200 later

The rear trailer arm bushing is made of hard rubber bushing and does not have fluid in it. If the whole bushing is cracked/torn it could cause the rear suspension to vibrate or shaking.

I would think about getting a second opinion on this job, as if this mechanic thinks that they are fluid filled bushes, are they really worn at all?
