I just changes the distributor and rotor as well as the fuel pump, now the car starts and idles fine but bogs out and stalls when put into reverse, no cel is on and battery is at full charge. I also cleaned the MAF. Any ideas what maybe wrong?

What is the idling speed?
What was the reason for replacing the distributor? Are you sure the replacement distributor is good?

idle speed is just under 1000 rmp, and its not my car, not sure why they changes the distributor, I am an entry level tech so I double checked the firing order and all was good. Just cant figure out why it is doing this.

The idling speed seems normal and stalling when shifting into gear are mostly due to engine running below par. Check the valve clearances and readjust if necesary.
Have the compression tested.
