I have a 2001 gmc sanoma sls 4.3 liter v6.
I see an oil leak where the trans meets the engine. It all started when the truck sat for about 2 weeks in my garage. It is light brown in color an I assume it is oil. Is that the rear main seal?It only has 86,000 miles on the truck.

You have as good a chance with that explanation as I do with mine, in fact, I am going to go out on a limb and agree that the leak could be the rear main seal. I would spend a bit of time cleaning the area to be sure of it before proceeding.

Sounds like the rear seal, could also be coming from a leaky distributor gasket, also the oil pressure switch/sensor-
