Just bought a 2001 Ford Windstar with 130,000 miles -- Jiffy Lube guy just told me my transmission fluid is "cooked" and the said changing it would shorten its life -- REALLY?

I once bought a car with really dirty old oil and it drove fine but I decided to change oil and then the engine blew! Go figure? I dont know exactly what cooked means but you may be better off to leave it be. I never have changed tranny fluid on purpose unless it got water in it or something.
