The problem with my Taurus is that when driving it it doesn't pick up speed.

That can be a million different things. Can you tell if it is engine or transmission related?

That will do it. When was the last time it was tuned up? Has anyone checked fuel pump pressure?

Since I've had it I haven't had a tune up for it. I haven't had the fuel pump pressure checked. I didnt know if it also has anything to do with the engine or not. I can't even drive up a slightest hill because then my speed goes down and it starts making a winding down noise

Have the fuel pressure tested. If the check engine light is on, and it should be, have the computer scanned for trouble codes. Most parts stores will do it for free. I don't know how many miles are on it. If it is really high, let me know.

First check what I mentioned. You can do it yourself. There are directions on our homepage under the DIY section. If all checks out, then check engine compression to make sure it is within spec.
Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.
