I have a 1988 ISUZU truck, I recently got, whoever had it last took all the emissions off and played with the vaccum hoses so no im stuck trying to guess where the vaccum hoses connect to, its also cold natured. Ii can get in the truck and pump the gas a million times and sometimes itll start and sometimes no.I can prime it and itll kick right off, Headlight switch is stuck, and headlights are stuck on high beam.I have 3 questions.#1=Is there anywhere I can go to get a diagram of where the vaccum hoses are suppose to connect to.#2=Would an electric fuel pump help my starting problems. If so how hard is it to replace myself.#3=How hard is it to replace the headlight switch on steering column, Thank you for your time in reading this.(Engine size is 2.3l gas)

Title is 2001 Ford Taurus but in question you mentioned 1988 Isuzu truck, kindly reconfirm the model, make and year.

Attached is a vacuum diagram from ourdatabase but seems the wordings are a little faded, don't tell me data in computer languages also fades over time? Lol.

The difficult starting might not be a fuel pump problem. Have the fuel pressure checked. It could be a line leakage or a faulty fuel pressure regulator.

Is the Check Engine Lifgt indicating?

To replace the multifunction switch, you would have to remove the steering wheel, which would be easier if not equipped with air bags.

Being a carburetted version, there would be no CEL to show.

The carburettor is not functioning correctly due to vacuum leakages. Once this is rectified, the carb might work correctly.
