2001 Ford Focus Car Low On Oil Shaking Lot Smoking Now Added Oil Stopped

My car was low on oil, and shaking a lot, but not smoking. Now i added oil and it stopped shaking but its smoking? Is it just too much oil? or is there additional problems with the engine?
