2001 Ford Explorer Having Trouble Opening Door Outside Lift Handle Open Won T

I am having trouble opening the door from the outside.When I lift the handle to open the door it won't. I just had someone replace the handle from the outside cause it broke. Is there a certain place or shop I can take my truck for them to fix that problem for me cause I am having a hard time trying to find someone to fix that for me cause they dont know how. I really need this fixed urgently. I dont want to go to the dealership for them to fix it.
