Engine won't start

Hi! My brother has a 2001 dodge ram 4500 cargo van that would not start after sitting for a few hours. It cranks and there is a gas smell, but wont start. Any ideas?

not getting spark? injectors leaking and making it too rich to start? try holding pedal to floor? akso could have a leaking fuel pressure regulator. this causes/lets extra gas into intake.
