2001 Dodge Dakota with auto trans. shifter sticks after ignition not allowing it to go into gear.

Check if your brake lights are coming on if so-have the shift interlock control system checked out-could be the shiftlock control solenoid

Thanks. Brake lights are coming on. The brake lights would not come on if the solenoid was bad?
