Chevrolet Suburban Engine Problem

Our 2001 Suburban died on us today in front of our home. Although we filled the tank earlier in the day, we are getting a low fuel warning as well as a gas gauge that is reading empty while the ignition is in the run position. We live in rural country in the mountains and are a ways from any shop that could take a look. Any help you may be able to offer would greatly be appreciated.
Checked all fuses and they look good.
Shook the truck and can hear fuel in the tank.
Thanks very much

You're going to need a fuel pressure gauge to determine if it is at spec or not. This engine is very pressure sensitive and requires a MINIMUM of 55PSI to run.

check the connector for the fuel tank as it controls gauge and the pump. otherwise the fuel pump module may have failed
