2001 Chevrolet Malibu Repair Question

Chevrolet Malibu Exhaust Problem
My low coolient light came on so i stoped and added coolient ..the light would not go off and the car over heated there is no water in the oil and no smoke out of the exhaust what could be the problem

have it pressure checked for head/intake gasket being blown
