I just jumped started the car

How can a control module could it go out by jump start the car? I am roadside service person and I had jump started a 2001 cadillac deville control module went out of it by jumping it?

It is the powertrain control module
i am being sue by old lady that said I burn it out when I had jump her car. Could you wirte me a letter for my court date

Nearly all manufacturers warn against using jumpers cables on modern cars. Not only can it damage any of the electronics on the car but it can do some damage to the donor vehicle also.
