I bought a new front axle assembly for both sides, my problem is I can't get the new ones to set.

The retailers tech Dept said it's the correct ones, the original ones just seemed to snap in, I even used the old clip on the new one. Common sense would tell me the original ones were worn in so thats why they fit, all the videos I've seen shows the new ones popping right in?

No, they need to be greased up, then started. With a brass hammer or rubber mallet. They need to be hit into place.
