Audi A4 Camshaft Problem
I took the cams out of a 2.8 30 valve audi. On the drivers side and the tensioner and cams all came apart. are there marks from the factory on the intake and exhaust cams? so when I put the cams back in I can line the marks up before I put the caps back on

no marks. you need a special tool to lock the cams and the crank. then you install the gears and the belt. be very carefull as you can bend valves so easily if the timing is incorrect.

Count 16 links between camshaft marings... as shown in attached image.

The camshaft lock tool ensures that the cams don't move while the cam sprocket bolts are loosened or tightened (sprockets need to freewheel during timing belt tensioning.
Crank lock is recommended but not needed as long as you are 100% sure of its correct position.
