2000 Volvo S40 Repair Question

I have a 2000 s40 that blew the top water hose and overheated. After towing it to the house I noticed loss of compression by turning the engine over by hand. Any suggestions.
I previously overheated 2 times. The second time I replaced the thermostat. I thought it was sticking. This time the top hose split.

at this point you may have blown a head gasket from the overheating.
the thermostat may have been bad or the rad may be clogged but i would have a leak down test performed to verify.
