I have a 2000 toyota camry with 101000 miles on it the timing belt was changed 15000 miles ago. I drove through a puddle yesterday and the car died. I tried to start the car and it wont start, it turns over, missfires sometimes starts and dies in seconds. I even waited for 4 hours to see if it will start after it dries, but it still does the same. What do I do?

Check the spark plugs and related parts for presensce of moisture. Hope the puddle is not too high. Check the air filter fpr presensce of water. If a lot of water is present, that could mean bad news.

I checked the air filter and spark plugs, there was no water in the air filter, there is plenty of spark. There was some water in some of the electrick conectors and I can smell the unburned gas. The car turns over, missfires and wont stay on. How do I check which sensors are messing up.

Dry up the connectors and retest. It should tno be due to sensors and more likely to be sprk plug related components.
