2000 Pontiac Bonneville Repair Question

Pontiac Bonneville Starter Problem
It will not start. For about one month it would make a clicking sound and wouldnt start on first attempt. but did start on 2nd attempt. Now it will not start at all.

sounds like a dead spot on the starter motor. have someone turn the key to start while you tap the starter with a hammer to see if it starts
